Before the Beta phase began the updates are game mechanics. So the Alpha updates aren't needed since only people directly involved in the games development could play.

Development first began in 10th March 2013. Development history from beta version 0.11 is detailed on this page.

2013 November[]

Beta Phase 1 begins 4th november 2013

Beta 0.11-0.16: minor bugfixes, art updates and aesthetic changes committed.

UPDATE: beta 0.11 (6th)

  • Fixed bug when setting active character to enemy rogue
  • Fixed skillbar mouse-over effects
  • Fixed server to properly update character buffs when crafting a currently equipped item

Post UPDATE: beta 0.14 (7th)

  • Expeditions now correctly run even when Treasure screen closed
  • Permanent version text at bottom right of screen
  • Graphics options moved from Login to Preloader screen
  • Inventory scrollbar improved

Beta 0.2-0.21-0.22: balance changes, friend system introduced.

Beta 0.20 - The Friendlist update (13th)

  • Friend system and challenging added
  • All classes base health increased
  • Various rogue archery skill changes
  • Rogue damage now a mixture of agility and strength (rather than agility only)
  • Damage calculation order changed to increase multi-hit attack usefulness and make damage debuffs slightly less powerful

Beta 0.21 - Friends and balance fixes (16th)

Friends fixes:

  • Online status of friends now updates (~15second timer)
  • Canceling challenges smoothed out
  • Friends list spacing fixed
  • Challenges now provide same rewards as single matches

Balance changes:

  • Health reduced slightly across all characters
  • Health regeneration re-balanced
  • All item enchantments brought down slightly

2013 December[]

Beta 0.3 (major update):

  • Golem of the Ruins event: a series of progressively difficult battles with a boss in the final battle.
  • Rogues' skills check whether the character carries a bow or a dagger.
  • Graphics and sound options are available (albeit limited).
  • Many aesthetic changes.

Beta 0.32:

  • Balance changes to most skills: Vile Insult and most magic skills have been nerfed.
  • Inventory shows icons for item slots that has no item occupying it.
  • Major bugfixes, less freezes and smoother gameplay.
  • Artifacts added

Beta 0.33-0.34-0.35-0.37:

  • Female champion models added to the game.
  • Enemy mobs each are given labels and names.
  • Many sound effects added.
  • Combat bugs fixed.

2014 January[]

The public beta was temporarily shut down, becoming a developer-only test game.

2014 March[]

Beta Phase 2 begins 27th march 2014

Beta 0.8:

  • Beta phase 2 began and it is available again for the public.
  • Players start from level 1 and an entirely intact skill tree, as well as with one companion.
  • New Yog-Sothoth event.
  • Built-in tutorial stages with interactive battles and characters.
  • Most skills got reworked and/or renamed (overall damage dealt and energy rates became lower and more balanced).
  • Custom character creation, more champions are got with levelling up.

Beta 0.826:

  • The first build available for a bigger beta community.
  • Players start from level 1 and an entirely intact skill tree, as well as with one companion.
  • A new chat function is introduced, where basic messages like "Good luck!" and "Well played!" can be sent to the other player during a battle.
  • NPC parties only appear in single battles and only if the game finds no human opponent for a certain time.
  • Balance fixes initiated, most notably:
    • rogue items need higher strength and agility to equip,
    • bows have much higher base damage,
    • Setup duration reduced to 25%, Deep Freeze slows by 35%, most archer skills cost less stamina to use and various other skill nerfs.
  • Various other bugfixes.

2014 April[]

Beta 0.843:

  • New daily quest option: a series of mini-quests can be completed in order to receive a reward, such as trading and arena fights.
  • Diamonds are available to earn via third-party websites and services.
  • Treasure maps are available for diamonds in the shop.
  • Balance fix: agility rates are significantly less effective, so that base rogue damage output and overall speed is reduced.

2014 May[]

Beta 0.880:

  • New guilds option: players can start their own guild or join an existing one. The most successful and richest guilds get a name on a top list.
  • The shop has an extended stock: class-specific item sets are available at a reduced prize, as well as customizations are added (as of the version, they cannot be purchased).
  • Runes provide smaller boosts, particularly elemental and stat bonuses.

24th-Beta 0.8987:

  • Added inventory slot purchase
  • Added xp and reward bonuses for fighting humans in single and arena
  • Customization icon fix
  • Item generation fix (no more +range on swords, etc)

2015 April[]

4th-v1.035 changelog

  • Inactive guilds will be removed from Guild Warfare matchmaking during weekly rollover
  • Leaders of removed guilds can rejoin Warfare by visiting the Guild screen
  • Guild Mutiny added, allowing members to replace inactive guild leader
  • Mutiny button will appear when leader has been inactive for 14+ days
  • If the ratio of "members in mutiny" to "total active members" is greater than 75%, the mutiny will occur

Alteration has been re-enabled (refresh required). Along with fixing some bugs, it has also been improved to not select a magical enchantment which the item already has, further improving your odds of getting that perfect combination!

Refreshing the game to get the latest client will add a new option called "Low Statbars". Enabling this option will move all character hp/stamina/speed bars to a lower position. This should help when fighting extra tall enemies like Frosty.

10th -v1.081 Patch Release

  • New tier selector has been released. You can now select the difficulty of your opponents based on a range between 1 and your earned rank tier.
  • The tournament point system has been changed with this patch
  • Currently it is set up for you to earn points based on the tier selected, or twice the tier of the enemy you battle if real PvP.
  • Frodo Sandbagging has lost significant value
  • For every tier rank you increase, every tier difficulty selected below you becomes easier with reduced stats on enemies. This means it becomes easier to farm on higher tiers for more tournament points, and eventually improved rewards as this system progresses through the beta phase.
  • This setup may be permanent, or may be temporary, or may get altered. This feature is still considered a beta feature and is undergoing review.

There's a lot of development headed our way into the new year. One change that was required in order to expand on progression was the way resistances work. A formula has been set up to ensure resistances can never quite reach 100%, but all resistances will combine together and increase your global resistance as a whole. If you had 100% resistance before, you'll now take minor damage, but that extra resistance will go towards reducing damage of all other types. The exact formula is not 100% official as it may be tweaked a bit in the future. This patch paves the way for us to finally work on major expansions

  • Resistance balancing. An expanded Party Stats window has been integrated.
  • •Critical rates are no longer halved, and can now stack properly
  • •(Experimental) Participating in guild war matches will know yield the same rewards...[win or lose]

Upcoming Experimental Changes Previously with brawls, higher-end matchmaking was done for:

This will be changed in the upcoming patch to:

Expect potential further maintenance if any issues arise and KEEP IN MIND The event-house is in experimental/beta stage. It could end up getting disabled, altered, etc at any point during or after the event as it is continually reviewed.

NOTE-

Event Heads Up

The new Event-House building will require that members have been in the guild for <x> amount of time and be inside the guild before the event starts to be able to contribute Guild Spirit to other members. That being said I would advise that players who intend to participate properly with this new feature not swap out guilds; especially during the event. This is a mechanic to prevent exploitation, and I don't want you folks getting burned by it.

8th v1.130.1 -

Non essential revision.

  • Resolves an issue with dagger duel still not having reflected in the damage on the party screen
  • Removed Bow Rogues From holiday boss battles for now as they appear to have a rare chance to freeze a battle. They have been replaced with mage/warriors in the meantime.

New Mechanics Change 1. You will no longer lose a boss battle if you lose or freeze from boss attacks. It will only deduct on a win. 2. Boss battles are now procedural....this means the battles are no longer random but pre-generated based on your boss level (This is to offset any exploit attempts at fighting the easier event battles by purposely leaving/losing).

This will be active immediately on your next login/refresh.

New Server Build As per many of the complaints about the matchmaking and PvP, I went delving into things and attempts to make some changes to improve the prevention of repeat-PvP occurrences. I also discovered a small bug that may have caused some unexpected behavior during matchmaking that might match with folks it shouldn't or not at all.

Attack counters have been slightly changed for characters in brawls/gw. With the last changes the counters were changed a bit to operate separately based on moving, or attacking, instead of both.

Holiday pack was dropping a weapon cosmetic only from a pool of 8 items, instead of the 32 in this event. Because of that, I've included a retroactive trigger on login for anyone who purchased packs before this point to credit an additional weapon cosmetic that includes the full range of weapons.

New Server -Relog for achievements to start fixing

-Fixed an issue where the event achievements were not tracking appropriately. They should update over time
-Reduced holiday boss battle difficulty a bit

3rd - New Server

Have had a few folks complaining about difficulty in 'EasyBrawl' matchmaking (after high recent loss ratio) being too difficult or folks being outright stuck in the matchmaking. This recent experimental build has further reduced the difficulty of opponents, but also tailors the strongest of the calculated grabbed AI to be on your side. Keep the feedback coming on this please, and tag if you run into any freeze-up or issues when this matchmaking occurs (You'll know because it will match you within 2 seconds of joining the queue, instead of the minute long wait)

5th- New Server - Please relog if you did not log in after the time of this announcement if you would be affected

-Redeeming 3rd tier of holiday results in an error when attempting to generate a hat cosmetic (it's armor cosmetics this time around), resulting in no reward. This is fixed, and when no hat reward pool exists, it'll generate 2 armor cosmetic pieces instead.
